Alaskan Crab Dipping Sauces

These simple dipping sauces go perfectly with Alaskan crab legs and make an impressive starter at any dinner party!

AG crab with citrus herb 2 (1 of 1)

Citrus Herb Dipping Sauce
  1. ¼ red onion – finely diced
  2. ¼ cup white wine vinegar
  3. ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  4. 1 tsp orange rind
  5. Juice of 1 orange
  6. 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  7. 3 tbsp chopped tarragon
  8. 3 tbsp chopped oregano
  9. 3 tbsp chopped sage
  10. Sea salt and cracked pepper
  1. In a mixing bowl, add all ingredients and mix together until fully combined.
  2. Serve as a dipping sauce with Alaskan king crab or as a salad dressing.

AG crab guacamole (1 of 1)

Alaskan King Crab Guacamole
  1. 1/4 Alaskan king crab leg meat
  2. 1 avocado
  3. 2 tbsp sour cream
  4. 1 tbsp lemon juice
  5. 1 tsp chopped flat leaf parsley
  6. Sea salt and cracked pepper
  7. Chia chips or wholegrain crackers to serve
  1. In a mixing bowl, mash avocado and mix together with sour cream, lemon juice, chopped parsley, salt and pepper.
  2. Remove crab meat from shell and tear into small pieces, mix ¾ through the guacamole and serve the rest on top with crackers.

AG crab with ponzu (1 of 1)

Ponzu Sesame Dipping Sauce
  1. 3 tbsp ponzu sauce
  2. 1 tsp sesame oil
  3. ½ large chilli
  4. 1 spring onion
  5. 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  1. Mix ponzu, sesame oil, sesame seeds and finely diced chilli and spring onion together.
  2. Serve as a dipping sauce with Alaskan king crab.

AG crab with roasted pepper 1 (1 of 1) 

Spicy Pepper Dipping Sauce

  1. 2 red bell pepper
  2. 2-4 mixed chillies (depending on spice preference)
  3. 4 cloves whole garlic
  4. 1 small red onion
  5. 1 tsp vegetable oil
  6. Sea salt and cracked pepper
  7. 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  8. Spring flat leaf parsley
  1. Pre heat the oven to 200ºC and line a tray with baking paper.
  2. Remove seeds from bell pepper and chop into large squares. Place on tray with whole chillies, whole garlic cloves and roughly chopped red onion.
  3. Lightly coat the veggies with some vegetable oil, salt and pepper, and bake for 30 minutes
  4. Once browned, remove from oven and cover with foil for 10 minutes.
  5. Push garlic out of skin into a blender with the rest of baked veggies (removing chilli stem and seeds). Add olive oil and flat leaf parsley, and blend until fully combined.
  6. Serve as a dipping sauce with Alaskan king crab or as a spread on canapés or crackers.
